Harris campaign grocery price control proposal could cause shortages

Any time you put in price controls you create scarcity. Oh joy, you can now afford groceries but there are none to buy. I was drilling water wells in Montana. Nixon put in price controls on rolled steel. We could not find 6 inch well casings. What we could get in some cases were factory rejects. When I joined the army Carter put price controls on gas. I remember the gas lines. People would pay other people to stand in line to buy gas. Station attendants would check your gas gauge and if you had over a 1/2 tank they wouldn’t sell you gas. There isn’t price gouging. The cost of doing business has gone up. Anyone who buys into Harris’s scheme s a fool. Even Paul Krugman knows price controls on rent doesn’t work.
