Im being denied service connection for smoke inhalation, but have pictures of it being black as night because of the oil well fires. We have memos stating we had lived for 30 days or more within 25, or 30 klicks from the wells.
We would shower and turn black again due to the oily smoke.

Brother I remember being at our FOB , KKMC... king calid military city during the war... the smoke from the wells was so bad that 10 am looked like 1900 ! It was so bad that the smoke blocked out the sun. The average temp was 29 to 35 degrees throughout the morning, it would eventually get to about 50 in the late afternoon.... I remember not showering for two weeks because the moment I got out of the shower to dry off , there would be so much soot from the burning oil wells in the air that it was like trying to wipe grey baby oil off my body. The point is, there's no way we COULD NOT have had smoke inhalation.... we all ate , slept, and shit that dirty air filled with virtual out of tune DIESEL EXHAUST! .

Morning David, I second the recommendations that Mike is sharing. Although the Gulf War Registry Health Exam may seem like a step backwards, it's not. It's all a process, it's about taking informed steps in working with both the VHA and VBA. The process may result in the medical documentation that you seek. Moreover, the exam may lead to your best understanding of the latest in Gulf War Illness diagnosis/research and thereby facilitating your best explanation to VHA & VBA, of your Gulf War related health concerns. Also, you may consider furthering knowledge and receiving healthcare through the clinical interventions now available nationwide in ongoing clinical studies and trials:

SSG Rodolfo Muriel, I know it has been a while, and I apologize for not asking this when you wrote it, but do you still need information on the steps you can take to help with your disabilities resulting from those injuries?
