If Congress was serious (spoiler alert: they aren't), they would revoke the GWOT AUMF and/or narrow the scope of it, requiring a new AUMF for operations outside of approved and sanctioned activities over 60 days duration. Three Presidents have used that one AUMF to justify operations in Yemen, Philippines, HOA, Maghreb, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and many more less known locations. That is not how it is supposed to work.

1SG (Join to see) You are 190% correct. Congress failed when it passed AUMF in the first place. But, this is one step that will maybe be the impetus to follow through with the full AUMF - especially depending on POTUS reaction to this.

MAJ Bryan Zeski this clip is one that cut right to the heart of fact and responsibility. Congress needs to take back the War Powers duty and get on board with doing business let the Constitution. This representative has the professional political air I remember from 50 years ago. Bravo Zulu!
