Lithuania was on the side of Germany in WWII in fact was a holdout location along with Latavia for months against the Russians after they had gotten to deep into Poland. The German Northen Army Group had many units from the Baltic states and considered the Germans liberators from the Russians. If Germany had treated the Ukrainians better, they may have had the manpower to actually fight the Russians. The Ukrainians had been fighting to regain their independence from Russia in drips and drops. When the Germans came again, they saw them as liberators. Germany screwed it up you cannot fight an Insurgency.
