George Reeves (January 5, 1914 – June 16, 1959) was an American actor. He is best known for his role as Superman in the 1950s television program Adventures of Superman.[1][2]
His death at age 45 from a gunshot remains a polarizing topic; the official finding was suicide, but some believe that he was murdered or the victim of an accidental shooting.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

I do remember watching him on reruns and yes Cowboy he was a hero of my youth thanks for sharing Capt Marty Hogan

Maj Marty Hogan, Superman with George Reeves was my all time favorite TV show while growing up along with millions of other kids. The 2006 movie, Hollywoodland, although fictional, does a reasonable job of presenting the various scenarios that may have resulted in Reeves' death. It's also a fairly accurate period piece.
