If you're Oak Ridge Boys fans, I think you'll enjoy this video. I saw Joe Bonsall, their lead singer, telling the story about this song and it really struck a chord with me. Both of his parents served in the Army in WWII and this is their story.

Really like them, when I was in the Corp I pretty much went to the Hollywood USO (I understand that they moved it to LAX) or went to Disney Land. When I went to Disney one weekend The Gatlin Brothers, were playing, I got the chance to meet them before the concert. When I introduced myself, it turns out that they knew my cousin Mac. So they made sure I was in the control room for the light and sound. After the concert they took me to dinner, and I learned a few things about Mac that had me rolling on the floor laughing.
