Fresno State GOP group under fire for comments about veterans

On Thursday night Fresno State College Republicans allegedly tweeted controversial comments to a combat veteran of Afghanistan.
In a tweet, the University indicated that school officials had been made aware of comments from a student group that were “inconsistent” with the school’s values, and that the matter had been sent to the Dean of Students for further review.
The university would not comment further on the incident. The corresponding Twitter thread from the university’s tweet below indicated the Fresno State Republicans had made incendiary comments about veterans and veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to students and community members’ comments.

I very vividly remember many college students vilifying those serving in Vietnam. It remains the most detested, despised and protested conflict ever.

but on second thought having them here whining was better than having them with me. in Vietnam

I always thought about was that the Airborne, Rangers and Special Forces along with the Marines should have been there. Draftees and the National Guard had no place in Vietnam. We could have won or lost with a lot fewer troops tripping on each other.
