Plain-language is excellent for multiple specialties, multiple jurisdictions, multiple users who do not regularly train together and may have incompatible missions. This is called the “NATO Brevity” for a reason. Every partner nation is expected to use the same jargon. Standardization is expected.

I was in emergency services for many years, and even if we were using plain-language, we used some brevity codes. Brevity codes are used extensively by Fire, EMS and Police agencies.
