Very True. As parents we must be better. We must go back to giving our children discipline that they once were given. No means no. Parents need to hold there children accountable and not blame the system or the teacher for our child's failures.

The Bath School bombing took place in 1927. It was the worst school mass-murder in our history -- 44 murdered, 38 of them schoolchildren.
1927 --- before the NFA of 1934. A time when anyone could buy a "Tommy gun" (.45 cal. sub-machine gun) or a BAR (FULL-auto rifle) without even filling out forms, never mind a $200 fee for a permit (equivalent to $3,600 in today's dollar), and background check with a long wait for 'processing'.
So why didn't the "easily available" nature of these "assault weapons" cause them to be used by the bomber, Kehoe?
The only answer I find is that the murderer chooses the weapon that suits his twisted, insane needs. Kehoe MIGHT have chosen any kind of gun, but WANTED to blow the school up to kill children and teachers. (He did use a rifle to detonate his car-bomb as he sat in it, to kill some more people.) Another homicidal maniac MIGHT choose arson, and burn the school down. There are some perverted sadists who choose a knife, so they can look in their victim's eyes when they stab them to death.
The fact is, the homicidal maniac is the danger, not the gun. Some may be willing to accept imagined fewer casualties by knives, bombs, arson, etc.. I want to eliminate all casualties by getting the dangerous people out of our civil society.

Parenting isn't easy but if you start early teaching them right from wrong character when they're older they'll have respect enough to listen to you (old school) it works MSgt Cayle Harris
