Bernie's full statement slammed authoritarians like Castro but he credited the Literacy program Castro implemented. So I guess my question to those Cuban Americans that lived under Castro, "was Sanders wrong about the Literacy program he spoke of?" He didn't praise the authoritarian leadership style, abuses, economy, or claim he's respected by the Cuban people did he? He acknowledge one thing he thinks Castro did right.
I think of how we criticize anti-Trumpers for hating everything Trump does or anti-Obama critics for hating everything Obama did. Hell, there are Americans like Trump that find nice things to say about Putin and Kim even though those two leaders have a history of abuse, murder, and corruption.
Guess I'm saying if one looks hard enough, one can find something to love or hate about a leader or his/her country to include past American presidents.

A fair question. Cuba already had one of the highest literacy rates among Latin American nations before Castro took power. Thus, his taking credit for the literacy rate would be similar to President Trump taking credit for the economy that President Obama created (if President Obama actually created the economy that he said was impossible). So, I guess I'm saying that you look like you look as hard as anyone and I'm still waiting to hear what you love about President Trump

CPT Jack Durish - I've given Trump credit for sustaining the economic growth just not full credit for it. I've given credit to a couple of Trump's trade deals even I disagree with elements of some of those trade deals. I didn't disagree with his desire to impose travel bans but it pissed me off that he and other US officials keep treating the Saudi government as an ally and not a threat equal to Iran who has given support to radicalized groups that have attacked Americans and American troops.
Bottomline, my criticism of Trump is in response to blind praise of him on social media. No different than past criticisms of Obama and Bush and Clinton I've made. I'm consistent even if you think I'm not.

MAJ James Woods - We can agree on the Saudi issue. Sadly, that one falls in the lap of President Carter. When he knocked the props out from under the Peacock Throne, America had to go fishing for a new stabilizing influence in the region. They have yet to find one...

Yes, they love the literacy and healthcare programs so much, every time Castro opened the gates people voted with their feet (oars) and risked life and limb to leave. Bernie is a stark raving lunatic who supports the Castro's, Chavez's' Che's and every other commie he can find. Why you might ask, because Bernie knows that is the only way you can hoist communism/Marxism on people, through force. It will take an even greater force to undo it.
