Uhhhh...if you’re recording something so you can’t be accused of rape later you probably should zip up and bail...
I guess I'm getting old. Sometimes I can't understand those many things that perplex me. Of course, all the unit commanders being relieved is an indication to me that people are being assigned to responsible positions which they don't deserve, or else don't appreciate. Lieutenants and Captains are allowed mistakes to a degree, but by the time they are promoted to field grade, they should realize the responsibility they bear. Yes, as a Lieutenant I experienced some real knee walking commode hugging drunk moments, but I grew up and realized young Marines looked at me for an example. I no longer had the freedom of tying one on. Even as a 20 year old lieutenant, I knew women in uniform, be they officer or enlisted, were forbidden territory.
Another thing that has caused me to wonder is some of the questions younger officers and enlisted ask in this forum. I'm not criticizing the people asking the questions, but some are so basic that I would have questioned my qualifications had any young Marine of my command not known the answer, or at least some SNCO or officer where they could have gotten the answer.
In another thread, a Marine officer wrote that it was more important to him that he had a reenlisting Marine's signature on his papers than it was to have a meaningful ceremony for that reenlistment where the Marine reaffirms his commitment to service.
To me, the honor of wearing a Marine Corps uniform demanded I take care of my people and conduct myself in a manner that never disgraced that uniform or my name, nor caused my people to feel anything but pride that they served with me. I'm sure there were and are people in all of the branches who felt and feel the same, but that moral dedication to duty and your fellows that is the standard of acceptable service is obviously missing.
I hate seeing so many of my peers failing to meet those standards.

"A good man who made bad choices" - that lawyer is definitely earning his pay.
Someone needing to scream 90 times to stop trying to rape them is seams more than just making a bad choice. As well he felt like he needed to record his encounter with an inebriated female in case she later accused him of rape - WTF chuck! Thinking there's a .00001% chance an individual is going to accuse you of rape should make you rethink your behavior.
Not to mention he's married - Navy being Navy.

Study reveals Navy installations carry most risk of sexual assault, but not why
A Rand Corp. report requested by the Department of Defense and published last month offered a glimpse at where sexual assault was happening in the military, but experts say it failed to answer one of the most important questions: Why?
