I don't get using -phobia or -phobic around people's alternative sexualities.
Phobia connotes fear. I doubt people are terrified about gay or trans or whatever. But an opinion is benign.

Phobias don't just mean "a fear of", they also mean "an aversion to" or a "dislike of".

These people are terrified of gays, what else drives this level of irrational panic?The same way the KKK is driven out of fear. Bigotry is almost always comes from irrational fear.
