I will never forget those ramp ceremonies for the fallen at FOB Warrior in Kirkuk, Iraq. 2004-2005 RIP.
Thank you for sharing. I would like to point out that those who wait for their service person do so in war and peace. The tragedy of routine and training operations leading to death is so very hard to accept also. While at VT-1 from '72 to '74, we lost four instructors and students in one horrible day. In a two year period the total was 7. It was the Vietnam era but this was in FL, far from the ravages of war. It was supposed to be safe.
