About a week ago, an American Guided Missile Cruiser shot down an American Navy F-18 it mistook as an enemy drone. I bet the Captain of the USS Gettysburg will be relieved.

1. DCA= Defensive Counter Air which is a mission to orbit in a specific area to respond and counter air threats.
2. Button 17 means they are on a preprogramed radio channel 17 on their radio tuning unit which is tied to either a UHF or VHF frequency that probably was the radar controller to their ship.
3. ICS = Intercom system
4. IROK is a Navy acronym for post ejection actions.
5. LOS comms = Line of Sight comms
6. UHF Guard is 243 Mhz, this is the military version of the VHF Guard that civilians use on 121.5. Notice that Uniform guard is exactly 121.5 X 2= 243.0
7. ZYN = can is a nicotine pouch alternative to chewing tobacco. I use ZYN's after I quit smoking.
