Australia doesn't have an equivalent of Davis Monthan so, given the contaminants in the fuselage, it makes sense. Both of our squadrons at Pease AFB had an exchange program with the RAAF F-111 crews. Crews spent 6-8 months in each country and flew the same missions as everyone else. The only thing their crews with us didn't do was pull alert.......something we loved to kid them about being privileged. About every 2 months we'd exchange "care packages", they'd send a pallet of Foster's and we'd send a pallet of live lobsters, obviously there was a party when the package arrived.

Great story! I certainly drank my share of Foster’s deployed with the Brits in Oman for Desert Shield. Their club was the T-3 and ours was Two The Limit. Fosters makes for a nasty hangover — especially in the desert! The Brits are some fun people to party with!!
