Your boat was named after the USS Arkansas which was a Dreadnought class battleship. I used to play it on one of my smartphone video games. I've been on the USS Texas so it's very similar to that one.

USS Arkansas, a 26,000 ton Wyoming class battleship, was built at Camden, New Jersey. Commissioned in September 1912, she spent her first seven years of service with the Atlantic Fleet.
