If you were involved in B-52 operations during the Vietnam War (even as crew members) there was little doubt that the politicians screwed up everything the military wanted to do.

1LT Voyle Smith Agree and they well knew it. Think it was pretty much the same on the ground but in the air you had the Navy, the Air Force, and SAC and they almost never coordinated on day to day operations, just the big ones. Today everyone would work together daily, run them out of SAMs, and let the bombers have their way with no pauses.

I still have major heartburn for the cowardice of the late US Senator Ted Kennedy. He was a coward without equal! He ran for a seat in the House of Representatives on a platform to end the war in Vietnam and nd he won. When he took his seat in the House, he immediately filed a bill to stop the funding of our troops and equipment that was used in the war effort. Without the funds to pay our troops and buy the supplies and equipment they needed to fight the war, the US war effort began a slow and painful death spiral. Thousands of US troops were abandoned on the battlefield, and with them, our South Vietnamese Allies. And it was all because one man was afraid he would be drafted into the US Army to help fight the war. His cowardice cost the lives of thousands of people in the US and in Vietnam. My only regret is that I’ll never be able to piss on his grave.

Sorry, LT, but Ted Kennedy served in the Senate, not the House. Also, I find no record of any bill he filed to stop the funding of our troops and equipment that was used in the war effort.
I have no use whatsoever for the late Ted Kennedy, but I do have an addiction to the truth.

I must also question your claim that because of this bill "Thousands of US troops were abandoned on the battlefield, "
