@PO1 John C: Just kidding John ! I can remember being on vacay with my folks when I was a kid and We'd hit every Museum in a 50 mile radius, it seemed.. and some ween't a/c'd and those that were had been out of doors.. it was in the 90s by 10 in the morn in the D.C cordon.
Mom wanted to go see some needlepoint exhibit at the Smithsonian. and wanted us boys to see it.. Seriously? I asked..
back we went to the Smithsonian.. I slipped out and went to Air and Space museum.. I paid dearly... we had a quiz in the car and mom asked what the different terms in knitting meant(I could see I'd been set up).. we left and drove to Williamsburg, Va. my brothers got what they wanted, I had to have liver 'n' onions..
again, seriously? We're on vacay here, that means no Liver 'n' onions.. read the fine print, Mom ! I walked out and sat on the bench.. Mom had them pack my uneaten meal in a Togo box.. I seen her put it in the cooler.. later.. while mom was in the Ladie's room, my dad said he was hungry.. hmm.. Hey dad, here's pumpernickel bread and my liver n onions and spicy mustard! Let me fix you a sand which ! I did that and he was just finishing it and I got rid of the evidence..
We stayed at a Statepark and had got out the stuff to make supper.. it's got to be here s'where.. "did anybody see the liver and onions?" She asked.. I said n'thing...
Both my brothers were silent also, which was surprising.. the youngest is always trying to make points.. dad fessed up..
But I still got drawn into it.. "boyd made me s fantastic liver 'n' onion sandwich on pumpernickel and I had a beer with it.. ..
man.. her look could have melted an Iceberg! I didn't go hungry, I still got a burger.. I just got mine last .. and the crumbs from the chips bag.. and the wimpy pickle.. dang, payback is heck !
Didn't really mean to draw this out..
but it was funny, it just wasn't that funny then ! ...
