Class of 2023, Don Your Rings"
Direction delivered by Cadet Jordyn Kenkel, the Class of 2023 Ring and Crest Chair as the
West Point Class of 2023 receives their Class Rings at presentation held at Trophy Point at the US Military Academy.
Cadet Kenkel is from Brule, NE and Ogallala High School.
The invocation was delivered by USMA Catholic Chaplain Fr. Matthew Pawlikowski.
Commandant of Cadets BG Mark C. Quander in remarks to the class highlighted the class motto engraved on every Ring detailed,
"Freedom is Not Free"
BGen Quander detailed the most expensive ring cost $29,165 featuring a natural ruby. The least expensive ring cost $654 and the average was $2,000.
The donated rings of 71 West Point alumni from classes which graduated from 1909 to 2004 were melted and utilized in the rings for the Class of 2023. The 50 year anniversary Class of 1973 donated 11 of their ings commented the Commandant.
Introductory music was provided by the West Point Band.
Several thousand family and friends attend the ceremony held August 26, 2022.
