Listen up folks a lot does not make since about this story,Naval hospitals dont make there own guidelines, pink nails are not allowed so what does that tell you, one of the ladies was civilian staff. The real story will never get out trust me I KNOW, I am a retired Independent duty hospitalcorpsmans Chief. And I will bet money there is some one one higer ranking involed behind the camera they are trying to protect so do not jump all over this girl cause its never that simple people.

If I was the Commander of this facility and Navy (military personnel) and civilian staff were involved in this video I would immediately assign a 15-6 Investigating Officer and then take action against these employees under the UCMJ for military personnel and the appropriate action for Government Civilian Personnel. No matter what the reasons or current regulations, this type of behavior can't be allowed in any military hospital facility - Period. If someone is going to get relieved it's the Commander of this hospital, if appropriate action isn't taken immediately and swiftly. Crap is going to happen when you a large institutions like this (because you'll have stupid personnel), but it comes down to the culture of the leadership throughout the organization, the ingoing training, and personnel being held accountable for the standards that have been set in this type of environment. Clearly there is a culture and personnel issue within this facility. That is just my 2 cents from a former Commander's perspective. Heads should be rolling at all levels after a thorough investigation in this facility.

When civilian healthcare is in needs high quality medical personnel and to get hospital corpsman more recognized as "professionals" the ignorance displayed by this video is incredible. I cannot imagine how many HIPPA violations this accounts for, especially the endangerment of a child's identity under various laws. While no name is attached to this photo of the child is not provided, what it also speaks to is the lack of training of personnel at all levels similar to the lack of training and leadership that has plagued the US 7th fleet with recent collisions that ships in the fleet have been involved.

Like operational fleet commanders, hospital commanders should be relieved for cause for not instilling the kind of trustworthiness and personal integrity required by every person in the healthcare continuum of care. This is just an symptom of the lack of personal integrity and accountability required at every level of the Chain of Command.

Given the efforts of MMAC and IHT every Hospital and Regional Healthcare Systems Commander should speak to every ENLISTED healthcare member about these efforts and what they mean to them after their naval careers. When they screw like this it hurts EVERYONE!

Medical, Nurse Corp and Allied Health Officers are not of the hook here, either. They are especially liable to consequence awareness so their junior enlisted understand cause and effect.
