Glad she got her car back. She can use it to drive to her court date for assault charges. At least she SHOULD be up on assault charges.

Cpl (Join to see) And the only way to prevent a descent into vigilante justice is to prosecute the vigilantes, right along with the criminals they serve the justice upon.

Bullhockey! Vigilante justice is a result of a corrupted justice system or absence thereof. People know what's right and wrong; humans have a built in sense of judgement. Criminals do not get a pass. She wouldn't have needed to take matters into her own hands if the criminal she had confronted had been locked up for the crimes he's been committing since his teenage years. She's a hero, IMHO!

Cpl (Join to see) - So it is OK to commit a crime if you are committing it against a criminal? Or is it that ALLEGED criminals (or criminals who have served their sentence) no longer have rights? Or is it just that we all have the right to ignore the justice system and just take the role of judge and jury for ourselves?
She took matters into her own hands by damaging her own property to prevent it being used to escape. That is her right. Taking matters into her own hands to COMMIT A CRIME is not her right. Assault is a crime. You can try and justify it all you want, but she assaulted that man. Further, she had no NEED to assault that man. She had already secured her property, even if he DID escape, which was not likely given that she had him cornered, she had her car back. Assaulting him served NO JUSTICE at all. Especially as he was only an ALLEGED perpetrator and in THIS country, everyone is innocent until PROVEN guilty in a COURT OF LAW.
You want to complain about a broken and corrupt justice system, then turn right around and advocate for ignoring "certain" crimes.
