Don't our Carriers have CIWS on board? Other defensive assets? If not, they would always have been susceptible wherever they've been.

We've been screwing with the Chins for decades. I personally helped lure a Chin sub two days away from the carrier group with them thinking WE were the bird farm(using two CG's, two helos and some EW stuff). All the sudden...poof...we "unmasked" and I'm sure their CO was PISSED!lol! Chin's are paper tigers. They have all this alleged whizz bang stuff however in practical use, it's NOT as advertised...guaranteed.
