Get used to it folks. Once the dam is breached, the flood won't stop until the reservoir is empty (and it's the mission of the DNC to keep filling the reservoir)

They're not going to rename streets or bases. It would cost too much and we have a lot more important things to worry about. I guarantee you that most soldiers serving have no clue who half the bases and streets are named after.

PO3 Donald Murphy
We had Navy history training constantly. Not sure if they still do it. Our Captain would even quiz us on it for drinks at the club. Our Plan Of The Day would include a bio on a famous Navy submarine or submarine force officer and what they did to become famous. The surface command I was at, did the same thing.

MAJ James Woods
LTC Orlando Illi - And I agree with the Army's statement cause it's true. Select military leaders on both sides of the war are deserving of recognition. I put the burden of proof on the advocates to prove any of those leaders are not deserving of being recognized based on something more than he was a member of the Confederacy. I.E. he slaughtered women, children, unarmed individuals, committed war crimes that are on record. That be my response to this politician and her cohorts. Even general Sherman was heavily criticized for his tactics but was still honored. So I'm open to debate case by case, not 'specious racism'.

LTC Orlando Illi
MAJ James Woods - she raised the specter of racism in her opposition stating that to use the names of Confederate Generals was tantamount to agreeing that to do so supported white supremacy (her words not mine) - that is what I mean by claims of specious racism

LTC Orlando Illi - Ok. I get that now. So my final point, your meme is BS and doesn't come close representing the rational statement you just made that I agree with.

MAJ James Woods - ROGER - point taken - I agree with your assessment. I should have taken the time to explain my opposition to her proposal.
