That may be going a bit far.... but in some respects, maybe they are? I don't feel they are bad people, just purposely misinformed by those that they trust. They have been betrayed. Sacrificial lambs on the alter of political expediency. It happens time and again in a Faustian fashion, with the devils leading them astray telling them it is their "liberal" neighbors that are responsible for their lot.

Whether they are 'bad people', however you measure that, isn't entirely relevant. They hold to a destructive ideology that does substantial harm to other people - and many of them are both aware of this, or worse, take pride in it.
