We had a similar issue at Hohenfels Training Area when I was a 2LT. The post gym was declared off-limits to men three nights a week due to the same perceived problem, i.e., women who felt uncomfortable working out with men. As I poked my head into the gym on several of those restricted periods, I noticed there was no one using the facilities. So, "Lady's Night" was a failure, since the gym went unused for almost all of those periods. I brought that up at community meetings, "If you want this facility to be available without men, then you need to use it." Eventually the "Lady's Night" program went away due to disuse. So, entirely banning men from any public facility just because they are men seems to me to constitute illegal discrimination. And that policy also makes the invalid assumption that all men are misbehaving when they work out around women. That's not the case, we're not all creepy.

Back when I was a gym rat, there were women that came into the gym and were ogled by the men there. Have no problem if women want to open their own gym so they feel comfortable.

LT Brad McInnis I have seen too many videos on TikTok of creepy men bothering women who are working out in the gym. As in - literally sometimes just sitting there staring at the women. Not working out themselves. Just staring until they get called out.

One video though a man said he saw this happening to a woman in the gym so he went up to the guy "Do you need something?" The guy was all flustered and he said "Well you're just staring at her so what's your problem?" The guy ran out and the woman said "Thank you. He's been following me around the gym all day."

As soon as someone says their gym is males only, it will face lawsuits from people who don't even use the gym. That is the rule in America - it is OK for the "oppressed class" to exclude the "oppressors" but not for the "oppressors" to exclude the "oppressed."

You can file a lawsuit for anything - it doesn't mean it goes anywhere or if the person who files it will even win.
