SGT Mary G.
SPC Michael Terrell The technology is real though. The American who made an engine and demonstrated it was murdered. mysteriously. within a year or two. It may have been a decade ago. Haven't seen much about it until the past year. Then saw some science website talking about it too.
Maybe China is developing a vehicle . . .

Nothing to see here, Toyota is already fielding a hydrogen power ICE. Problem is that most hydrogen is the byproduct of the oil industry.
The simple answer for years has been to just switch to Natural Gas. We have tons of it, it's the cleanest of the hydrocarbons, at worst the exploitations of the resource if far less damaging than coal and oil, the distribution system already exists and conversion from gasoline to natural gas is pretty simple.
The major reason for the rather substantial reduction in CO2 in the US over the last 20 years is simply that out dated coal fired generating plants are being replaced by Combine Cycle Natural Gas Generation. It requires no environmental mitigation, it's cheaper to build, it's more efficient and it is much easier for the utilities to deal with sudden peak loads.

I've long been an advocate of natural gas and in fact our entire house uses natural gas for everything. The aquarium where I worked used a natural gas tram to get guests from the parking lot to the facility. They worked great but had the same issue as EVs, range. We were a small facility so could only afford one and it turned out that we couldn't get through an entire day of operation without a refuel which required going to the gas company. We ended up selling it to a local amusement park who had a fleet of them, and on-site refueling capability.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - UPS has CNG over the road trucks and all of the local city buses are CNG, so distribution must be a lot better. UPS has a run here in Lexington to Morgantown, WV, that would be around 330 miles one way and those trucks have at least that range. Plus, you can refuel them in about five minutes.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Me too, as soon as I knew about it!
My brother and I were talking about this several years back. Seems one of the first people to share a video about the concept and the process of the engine he made and demonstrated, the video I had watched - was murdered, mysteriously. That sort of cooled people down about developing the H engine. Hopefully, some brave souls will invest in developing it. I have to wonder why Musk didn't go that route instead of electric.
