Sometimes an operation is successful despite there being no reason it should succeed! Such was this SOE operation on Crete. Persistence and planning did overcome those obstacles. Article is a good lesson learned on how the impossible can be made possible.

After the war the German General Kreipe maintained the friendship with the British that captured him. I would have to say that is the way to end a war.

It made me wonder if we would today be able to do something similar and if such would be the result after the war.... not so sure...
