All of us are prodigals!
A Christmas gift many years ago from my younger sister was a poster that said:
"We travel the world looking for life's meaning. . . .
And we return home to find it."
Another thing that your post reminds me of, Sheri,
is a literature professor's comment regarding literary epics.
He said:
"There's always a coming-of-age protagonist
Who leaves home to seek her/his fortune
Finding many adventures to experience
And finding many challenges to overcome
Then, filled-full, returns home
A mature adult, a human being"
