When will the national gun carry license be available. You have to take test to get your driver's license why not for guns - of course there is the fact the Constitution does not address the issue of the Right to Transportation - unless you place that under that which entails privacy and free domestic movement without governmental abridgement.

In Arizona, it's required to take an eight-hour course to get a concealed carry permit. The course was a good refresher and even covered the responsibilities if stopped by the law and protection by way of insurance. For a non-concealed weapon, a permit is not required. Citizens have protection under the Castle and Stand your ground statues. Arizona Revised Statute §13-411(D), and Arizona Revised Statute §13-405.
According to almost every major study on the issue, Americans use their firearms defensively between 500,000 and 3 million times each year. Even if we assume the lower end of this range, it means many times that Americans relied on the Second Amendment—not the government getting there on time—to protect their inalienable rights.
Examples of defense incidents follow:
A young father used his handgun to defend himself, his fiancée, and their 10-month-old child after an intruder broke into their apartment and threatened them at gunpoint. The man shot and killed the intruder.
A good Samaritan with a firearm in his truck defended three women from a man who followed them out of a bar in a threatening manner. The women yelled at passing vehicles for help, and the truck driver stopped and allowed the women to take refuge inside as he confronted the aggressive man. The man retreated to his own vehicle when he saw that the truck driver was armed. He then rammed the truck several times while the women were still inside. The truck driver fired a couple of rounds into the tailgate of the man’s vehicle and held him at gunpoint until police arrived. Police charged the man with aggravated assault and determined that the truck driver acted in lawful defense of himself and the women.
A woman shot and wounded a man who broke into her apartment in the middle of the night. A neighbor told reporters that it is a dangerous neighborhood and that there are regularly “gunshots up and down the area.” This time the gunshots were from a law-abiding citizen defending herself against a criminal.
The laws for gun carry are different from state to state. The book concerning those laws is thick and available for purchase. Some states have reciprocal agreements. The operative word is beware, and educate yourself with state laws and those states you are intend to travel and carry.

When Kennedy was assassinated, the first thing legislators did was ban mail order firearms. I wouldn't say Oswald was unique since his line of thinking was harmonious with Hanoi Jane and others, but the government knew about his conduct and could have easily prevented that fateful day. When Bryan Kohberger left Idaho after the university murders he hadn't been identified and yet he was tracted all the way across the country. I guess what I am saying is the government bungled the job and think the best way to prevent more murders is to punish all the law abiding citizens.
