I hope as part of the stimulus or infrastructure program they fund the Coast Guard at a much higher rate, we definitely need more operational icebreakers for starters. Could probably also use more rescue units around the Great Lakes as well.

I have no clue what this means: Members of the Coast Guard with orders to new duty stations this year will proceed under adaptations that include a longer moving season.

The vast majority - nearing 99% of them - take place during the summer months. The "expanded moving season" means that we'll have PCS moves later into the year.

It's one of the things that distinguishes us from the other branches. We do our best to let kids finish school years before we move their parents across the country or overseas. Prior service folks that cross over are invariably blows away by the practice. :D

MCPO (Join to see) - I have heard nothing but good things about the CG especially on how SMs are treated. Not many know it but the CG saved tens of thousands before any federal agency could pull the heads out of their butts for Hurricane Katrina. I read the 200 page AAR for Katrina and learned a lot about Disaster Prearedness and Mitigation.
