That was an amzing amount of words to say "I don't understand the diference between sex (biology) and gender (social construct).
"Gender refers to the characteristics of women, men, girls and boys that are socially constructed. This includes norms, behaviours and roles associated with being a woman, man, girl or boy, as well as relationships with each other. As a social construct, gender varies from society to society and can change over time.

Nope. Wrong. We are talking about the child's sex at birth. Not about gender dysphoria. No social constructs, no BS. It is a biologically binary issue.

Col Joseph Lenertz - Correct. SEX at birth. That's based on biology. But sex and gender are not sysnonyms, as the thousands of doctors at the World Health Organization just explained in that article linked.

SFC Michael Hasbun - Don't care. Not the topic we are discussing. You are free to start a thread discussing your perceptions on sex vs gender. This thread is about biological sex at birth.

Col Joseph Lenertz - actually, if you'd paid attention to your own link, you'd see that the topic is actually gender identity. It's literally in the opening.

All true BUT there are behavioral mismatches. Maybe a different word for gender behavior would solve the confusion. Imagine completing applications: Gender, Male or Female. Sex, Yes or No. X, (Fill in the blank). Would that help?

LOL. I'm not talking about gender behavior here though...merely identification (not "assignment") of the biologically testable new baby boy or girl.
