Thanks TSgt Joe C. for letting us know that on December 28, 1832 citing political differences with President Andrew Jackson and a desire to fill a vacant Senate seat in South Carolina, John C. Calhoun becomes the first vice president in U.S. to resign as Vice President of the United States.

TSgt Joe C.: I understand Vice-President John C. Calhoun's decision. However, that being said, I don't believe that the late Vice-President Calhoun should have resigned his Vice-Presidency Love, Margaret
