That ego is the biggest thing about him. Then his mouth. Can't excuse simple rudeness and disrespectful behavior. Ugh.

SPC Nathan Freeman - Chris Wallace even said he crossed the line from humor to missing the point of the dinner, which was meant to be light hearted and civil. Perhaps he felt that tradition needed to be changed too. Too boring for him.

A great example of how to do this gracefully was the 2012 dinner with Obama and Romney. (You can see them on youtube). A couple of my favorite lines:
Romney: As President Obama's days in the White House draw to an end, he looks around this room at all the wealthy people in white tie, and thinks "so little time...so much to redistribute"
Obama: "Michele and I went shopping in some stores on fifth avenue today...I understand Gov Romney went shopping FOR some stores on fifth ave today".
And my favorite:
Obama: As you know, Mitt is Gov Romney's middle name...(sighs)...I wish I could use my middle name.

More proof that the man is only out for himself.....can't even begin to understand that this dinner is the calming point after the debates, a chance to reach out and be human again. Instead he has to belittle everyone while touting his own greatness. COL Lee Flemming I agree with you completely. Not only did he miss the point of the dinner, even IF he understood I don't believe he would have been any different.
