In a lot of ways, this works out pretty well for Joe. His handlers can limit his interactions. When he says dumb stuff, they control the video and can edit it to suit their purpose. And it builds in a ready-made excuse if he fails. Clearly, the gremlins of technology were at fault, not his incoherency or lack of message.

The only thing saving Biden right now is he can do this from his basement, virtually. Can you imagine him out on the campaign trail every day speaking extemporaneously? It would be a word salad lollapalooza. Even the virtual campaign is a disaster every time he tried to speak.
