That's Brigadier General R. J. Garcia the recently appointed 81st Commandant of Cadets at West Point. Our talk post 7-26-24 Board of Visitors meeting held at Camp Buckner training site on US Military Academy post.

The New "Comm" led a presentation of various summer training programs at USMA including Cadet Field Training for rising class members and Cadet Basic Training known as "Beast Barracks" for the incoming new class. Several Cadet leaders participated in the presentation.

BG Garcia is a '96 USMA graduate of USMA, branched as an aviation officer. Has served with 2nd Infantry Division: Republic of Korea, most recently served as the Deputy Commander (Support) with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.

He holds a Master of Science degree from Kansas State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College.
