There was very strong feeling in the US before the war for the country to stay out of the war. Indeed, there was a large contingent led by such notables as Lindberg (yes, the famous aviator) and Joe Kennedy (President Kennedy's father) who were pro-Hitler. I don't believe that there was any similar group supporting Japan. Thus, once we were drawn into the war, I don't believe I have ever heard anyone openly supporting Japan, but the support for Germany seemed to fade slowly. Was there support for Germany even after the war? Yes, but rarely expressed openly. I know my father was one of those. He often spoke wistfully of the world that might have been had Hitler won, but only in private. I have no shame in saying this. His opinion is not mine, never was, never will be. I spoke of it openly on my weblog...
