Also, please don't forget about Mike Durant, a Warrant Officer pilot who was taking hostage after his Blackhawk was shot down and survived. He now owns a company that primarily employs former military personnel and designs training simulators for the military.

CW4 (Join to see) I posted a piece on him yesterday. The piece was to show how he overcame these events and how it affected who he became.

CPT (Join to see), I'm sorry. I don't know how I missed that. My RP app is tricky sometimes. Thanks for sharing.

CW4 (Join to see) - No worries. It's a great piece to read and know this event didn't and doesn't define who he is.

Thank you CPT (Join to see). When Warrant Durant saw these two men drop in to help him, he thought he was saved. He gave an excellent testimony to the heroism of these two fine soldiers who gave their lives to save a fellow American soldier . I certainly look up to them.

In couple weeks I will attend a retirement ceremony at Fort Meade and party for a good friend of mine, SGM Brendan O'Connor who received the Distinguished Service Cross for his deeds in Afghanistan. Brendan is a great soldier who gave up his commission to serve as a Special Forces medic. While he is younger and shorter than me, I look up to him! HE IS A HERO!

Thanks CPT M Cannonie, great post... I was a young 1LT at Ft Campbell when this all went down. I remember well when Durant returned home and we were all on the airfield to show our support as he returned home! These quiet professionals are the stories legends are made of.
