Tell CNN to start playing Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry." Secret Clearance isn't that hard to obtain. US citizenship, SF86, fingerprint card, and a National Agency check if I remember correctly. Depending on your MOS, most of that paperwork was done at MEPS. Even if you have a security clearance, you have to also have a need to know.
