Complete BS, when you retire you are retired, So long as you do not disclose classified information you have freedom of speech. Feel free to criticize anyone you want to. It's amazing how often constitutionally protected rights are infringed.

Basically, because he couldn't speak out while this was going on. The fact that they have since retired changes nothing. It also doesn't mean the situation has changed. Different players, same game.
