My problem with all of these special interest cases is that it places the burden of innocence upon the accused. Also, our system of civil law does not force the loser to pay all cost. Anyone can be accused of anything. If found not guilty, the financial lost is rarely recovered. The personal turmoil of a criminal or civil proceeding is never remedied.
I have worked with two men who wanted to be women. I treated them entirely different from others because I was sacred of being accused of something. I tried not to get within ten feet of them. If I saw them go to the restroom, I would not enter until they exited. I avoided professional conversations. I sent emails. I never talked to them on a personal level.
Why did I act like this? Self protection. One accusation and I would have been fired and blacked balled in the industry. Aggrieved special interest groups did it to themselves.

A bigot is someone who is intolerant of other's differences. I can tolerant anyone, as long as they are not criminals or physically threatening. No where in my response do I display bigotry. I explain how others are intolerant of my views. I will be punished if I express by views that differ from those who perceived themselves as politically untouchable. I have few options to protect myself from bigots other than to avoid any conflict, however innocent.
