The article focusses on the NRA (of course) but the problem is perceptions. The NRA isn’t even in the top 50 list of top contributors/lobbyists...

Blaming the NRA for these tragedies is similar to blaming the AAA for the 40,000 or so killed in auto accidents annually. It’s the shooter and the driver in those examples.

I'm working on an essay for my website on this very topic. Would Congress be the target of all those lobbyists if the federal government was constrained to the limitations enumerated in the Constitution? It seems to me that all that money going to the District of Calamity is simply following the power...
