That malfunction saved a $400mil aircraft. Considering that they ended up being able to land it suggests that they decided to punch out before they fully assessed the situation.

SSG (Join to see) You share a unique perspective. You never know what you can do until you absolutely HAVE too. The aircrew were unwilling to let a member perish and they did whatever they had to do to save him. I would never question an aircraft commander for ejecting. He has a hundred decisions to make at that specific time and will always choose to save the crew. Humans and crewmates are irreplaceable. That bomber was metal and composites. It can be replaced by a backup!

Thanx for the share PO1 Tony Holland This is both alarming and dangerous. To have our entire fleet on stand down puts the entire country in peril. Good thing the old, trustworthy B52s can still handle the mission 63 years after it was introduced...kinda reminds me of my friends on RallyPoint. We may have age on us, but you can bet we would still be a formidable weapon for our country if we are ever needed!
