Odd how McConnell can say that, while still voting for acquittal. He wants to have it both ways. He wants to publicly rebuke Trump, but not vote against Trump. So, it's all empty rhetoric. He's all talk and no action.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - That's still much more bipartisan than with Clinton's impeachment.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - Just like every other impeachment, just like the Republicans made pretty much everything in the Senate partisan for years, and when they controlled the House, etc. Welcome to Washington.

The facts of the case were obvious and public. There wasn't much of a case for them to put on. Let's not pretend that the Republicans didn't vote for impeachment based on some lack of knowing the facts of the case. McConnell made it very clear he thought the facts of the case were that Trump did it and that it was a dereliction of duty at least. He found a procedural out of a difficult political vote, that has nothing to do with the case the Democrats brought, and said as much.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - Actually, more Republican House members voted to impeach Trump in this impeachment than Democratic House members voted against Clinton. The reverse was the case in Trump's first impeachment.

When Trumped bragged about 2 million COVID cases it indicated to me he had no presidential timber and he was actually an evil person. What normal person brags about the suffering of his people? He treated the COVID metrics much like an accountant uses expenses to determine financial statements. He just expensed the suffering of Americans with no sympathy, compassion, or empathy.

He had the temerity to broach the subject and brag about it. No other presidents bragged about the great loss to Americans. They had the decorum not to do what Trump did.

The irony is Trump’s oath of office included protecting the constitution, but he was a threat to the constitution.

LTC Kevin B. - It's really distressing because I believe that the country needs at least two different political philosophies to argue out their positions, come up with better answers and stop us from going off the rails one way or another.

One party veering off into authoritarianism and an alternate reality is going to have bad impacts on the other party too. We need at least two solid parties, with a true "loyal opposition" to whichever party is in power.

SPC Kevin Ford I agree. I want at least two parties with legitimate philosophies on how they want to govern our country. "We want what Trump wants" is not a legitimate philosophy.

SPC Kevin Ford - I can't even express how appalling it was to watch the GOP implode and devolve into such an unethical party. Grown ups, our GOP leaders cared little about rules, regulations, laws, constitution, and spewed infinite lies to the country.

Trump and his administration were so inept that they thought about ordering PPEs in late March. Doctors and nurses were washing PPEs for weeks. This illuminates the absolute stupidity of Trump and his administration. This is not rocket science. There is so much COVID blood on their hands.

However, many Trumpers in their absolute ignorance will say that Trump did all he could do to prepare the country for the pandemic.

LTC Kevin B. - Agreed. They do have a slight left bias. I mostly listen to them for factual reporting. Humans in general will always has some bias, because we're human. That's why I put a premium of factual reporting and take any possible bias into account.
