Resume Scanning Software Litmus Test...

93% of all Hiring Managers use a resume scanning software to filter candidates from the application pool. Hiring Managers use this to filter the real talent from the hundreds, sometimes thousands, of candidates that apply for a single open position.

Hiring Managers use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to automatically designate a Best Fit based on your experience level and the kinds of keywords spread throughout your resume. The ATS will also assign a weighted score to Key Skills & Competencies from your resume to paint a picture of who you are as a potential employee.

This changes the entire game of sending in a resume and hoping someone on the other end will have it in their hands. They may never see your resume depending on your score. Key words spread throughout your resume seem to be the key to getting the interview.

Not sure where you get the 93% number from. We use an applicant tracking called kenexa and it does not scan for keywords someone physically go in and look at candidates profiles and forward to HM.

There is a weighted score that you can source by for example if the role require you to have a bachelor's degree you may get 100 points, 50 points with an associate degree + 3years experience, 60+ Crédit 25 points, HS diploma 0 points. The person with just hs diploma may be a good person but I don't have the time to source for good people the HM is looking for candidates like yesterday. You have to go about it like this especially if you have 3000 people apply for a role. So it's very important how you answer the questions about your experience. If you don't have experience you may get little to no points for that question. That is how our process work what are some other examples?

Ensure your keywords match the semantics of the job posting. If I have data analytics but job says data analysis... Guess how I change my resume words!
