The First, And Only Time I Saw This Movie, Was Shortly After It Came Out.
I'd Like To Ask Of Those Whom Were There, "How Realistic Is The Movie"?
I Served From My 17th Birthday On 06/29/1961 ~ DD-214'd Out, From Osan AFB
South Korea On-06/10/65 ~ But Never Served In Combat

I didn’t think this movie was realistic, great visuals and sound tracks though, most of the Vietnam war movies I saw were the” Hollywood version “ with one exception some of the scenes in the movie “Platoon “( Oliver Stone) were dead on ,especially the first portrayal of a night ambush with the rain and mosquitoes, goddamn, gave me flashbacks,I served in the 4th Infantry Division as a grunt in the Central Highlands 1966/67,Welcome Home Brothers.

I Can't Imagine Anyone Having Been In Combat
And NOT Being Affected By It In Some Manner Or Another,.
It MUST Take A Toll On Both The Body And Ones Mind....
