Interesting. I would imagine that the consumption of food was dictated as we evolved from hunter and gatherers to agrarian societies. Hunters and gatherers spent much of their lives in the inefficient process of finding enough food to eat. Having a surplus of food made consuming it more predictable.

Agree.
I imagine before they moved out of Africa, they ate whenever they had something to eat.
