Marines tackle barracks repairs with elbow grease, outside expertise

Went to AIT in Fort Gordon GA in 1967 when they were replacing the old barracks and they dropped us in the last one standing. All the Rats from the previously demolished barracks kept moving on to the next standing one. We had Hot and Cold Running Rats 24/7. It was so bad they allowed us to keep cases of empty coke bottles next to our cots to throw at them and try to kill them. Broken Glass All over the damn floor. Lived like that for 4 months before they put us in a new barracks. It was Signal School 6 months plus one in the cage for the Civi Eng. Lic. and ASA Pass.
