6 years in Colorado, saw the lights a few times.
4 years in Alaska, saw the Lights often.
Last night I went out to see them, but the city lights of Prescott Valley are to the north of my house, so no luck.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I was at Ft. Richardson (Anchorage) with TDY trips every 2-3 months to Ft Wainwright (Fairbanks) and Ft Greely (Delta Junction).
Great assignment but the wife got tired of the cold.

Ya AIN'T Gonna Believe THIS, But I'm Gonna Tell Ya Anyway:
While Living In Panama, My Lady Friend And I (She Was In Her Mid 20's I Was About 15 At The Time)
Were On My Harley, Riding Around A Jungle Road When A Small Rainbow Showed Up, And We Rode Through It ~ When I Returned To My Residence & Told My Brother Jim About It,I Was Actually Accused Of Lying And Told: "Don't Tell Anyone Else That Story Of Yours; It's A Lie & You Know It, So Don't Repeat It Because It Will Damage The Family Name, And All Of Us".(I Did As Told ~ 1958).
~~ Then 1996 I Married My 2nd Wife & We Went To Panama & Costa Rica; As We 4 Headed Towards Costa Rica For A Couple Weeks Or So; And As We Rounded A Curve In The Mountain, We Drove Right Into A HUGE Rainbow, Stopped Immediately, Parked The Car And Got Out To Get A Good Look At The Rainbow, As MANY Others Had Done, And Just Stood There In Total Silence.. The Colors Were SO Brilliant, But Without Glaring, As We Stayed And Stared For About 1/2 An Hour........ BUT As Jim Saw The Rainbow, All He Said Was "I'll Be A Son-of-A-Bitch" But Never At Any Time, Mentioned Anything About The One I Saw YEARS Previously ~~ EVER ~~ But I DO Know He Was Thinking About it.!
