In the US 9 of 10 marry and 40%~45% divorce.

Sadly true. I also notice that divorces do not always happen early on. Some people that I know divorced between 15-20 year mark due to simmering turmoil, children leaving home or other factors.

LTC Eugene Chu - You are absolutely correct. Having children significantly lessens male marital satisfaction. Once the leave the nest, marital satisfaction peaks and couples achieve sincere psychosocial intimacy.
