I thought it was a tie, and I expected it to be much less cordial than it was. I was quite surprised.

*Edited for grammar.

SSgt Robert Simonds - Vance was referring to the Haitians in Springfield when he made his illegal immigrants comment, and you have been defending his comment as being a true statement. It was a lie.

LTC Kevin B. - Not all are legal...how many are? How many aren't but to blanket and say either way from either side of this is wrong. But these moderators should stick to the rules and when they are one sided they should be called out...Now should fact checking be allowed...yes because their questions are based on their research, or they are supposed to be...if a politician is lying then call them out...if they can't take that then they shouldn't be in office. But keep it even keeled if you do it, not just one sided as it has been thus far.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - Completely agree on consistent and equal application of the fact-checking. Neither side should get a pass on that.

Just a quick search and I think we can all agree that JD performed better than Waltz, despite the fact that the moderators, once again, inserted themselves into the debate, ignoring their agreement not to do so. Regardless, JD, addressed them as Trump should have, and got his point across. I don't think Vance destroyed him, but I do think he provided a better and more honest picture of himself to those who only listen to left leaning media's characterization of him. Here's the sample...

NBC
NBC's Kristen Welker reveals 'panicked' Democrats texted her during debate worried by 'likable' Vance

The View
'The View' host admits Walz 'dropped the ball' during VP debate: 'Wasn't in fighting mode'
"The View" co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said Wednesday that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz "dropped the ball" during Tuesday's vice presidential debate by failing to fact-check Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio. "I honestly thought from a performance and delivery perspective, Tim Walz had the rockier night," Griffin said, despite arguing that Vance's difficulty in responding to a question about Jan. 6 at the end of the debate was the most clipable part of the night.

NY Times
Majority of NY Times columnists agree JD Vance won debate: 'Much more forceful speaker'

Politico
"It was a very Midwestern debate. And Vance won."

USA Today
"Readers across the country who participated in a USA TODAY Network and Courier Journal poll said Republican Sen. JD Vance won Tuesday's vice presidential debate."
